To Live and Die in L.A. (1985)

To Live and Die in L.A. (1985), one of Ryan’s top films, is our second episode! I decided to let Ryan pick one, since Color of Night was such a nightmare, and I didn’t want him to leave me. What an absolute gem, this one. I’m glad William Friedkin is a man who will never give up, and will give jobs to people like William Petersen so we can now enjoy him in…how many seasons of CSI? Fifteen? Jesus.

I also love this movie, and I hope you go buy this if you don’t already own it. The Arrow Video release is incredible. If you don’t want to own it for whatever reason, although you should reconsider your choices, you can currently stream it (for purchase) on Amazon. Hopefully it will have a wider streaming availability soon, but you certainly don’t want to wait for that. Just buy the damn thing.

P.S. The Nick Nolte/Friedkin joint we mentioned was Blue Chips (1994). As of the writing of this post, Blue Chips is available for free on Hulu, for all you Friedkin completionists out there.
